Road Trip to Dam

Margo had a great idea yesterday: ‘Let’s go on a picnic!’
‘Sure. Where?’
‘North Dandalup Dam.’
By the time I’d finished doing what I was doing, she had a basket packed and was standing at the door. You see, we’d been stuck indoors for a day or two because the weather hadn’t been nice. This day was a fine one and she was anxious to make use of it. So off we went.

I hope that wall doesn’t collapse.

As you can see, this region is not unlike those seen in Dayboro, Queensland. There are hobby farms, hills and pockets of fertility everywhere. The dam is also about the same distance from the coastal region, pumping a line of freshwater back to the city.

‘Forman’s writing style is artful, with the protagonist Mitchell’s warped thought processes masterfully exposed. The author has a powerful and vivid command of language and his word pictures are stark and disturbingly real.’  – Linda J Bettenay, author of ‘Secrets Mothers Keep’ and ‘Wishes For Starlight’
